A little bit about me...Traveling is my passion. I've visited a few places around the world, but am very excited to have created this blog and share my past and upcoming travels with you. I'm a 21 year-old student, and my name is Alexa Liguori. Traveling brings out a better side of myself, and helps me to find things within myself that I hadn't known once before. Seeing different parts and different cultures of this world helps me to appreciate my own, and how amazing this world that we live in really is. You don't realize how much the world has to offer until you break apart from your barriers and experience such indescribable places. The world was created specifically for us to live in. The sky is painted with beautiful colors, the night lights up with a blissful array of stars for us to gaze upon, the mountains were crafted high for us to climb, and ocean floors were filled with seas of blue for us to swim. The world we live in has so much more to offer than we think, and all I want to do is explore it. I want to wander, to maybe get lost, to maybe not have a plan- but to find myself among it all. Yes, it is a wonderful world, but my idea of it is more like a wanderful world.
FAQ. |
What made you want to start traveling?
My parents took me on trips to the Caribbean ever since I was young, but it wasn't until I went to Spain, Portugal & Morocco that I knew I needed to keep exploring. Just becoming immersed in so many different cultures, and being able to do so on a small budget if you are patient with planning, is incredible. There are so many places I still have left to see.
What about money? Isn't it expensive?
Yes, of course traveling is expensive. Airfare costs a lot. But if you spend the one-time fee of airfare to say, Europe; then there are ways to get around once you get there that are much cheaper. In Australia, we lived 3 hours from Sydney- but took a $4 train ride every weekend. Make use of your resources, and don't be afraid to go the cheaper route. That is how you last longer as a traveler... staying in hostels, not buying alcohol, buying groceries over eating out, etc.
What are your goals with traveling?
I honestly want to go everywhere. Even Antarctica. There is beauty everywhere, it's up to us to find it. I want to live in several different countries. I'd love to live in Australia, Spain, Italy, or wherever my heart lies when it's time to make that decision. My goal is to prove to people that you can travel on a realistic budget, and that you can travel alone as a young female.
